Why do I have to give my billing information for a free trial?

This article explains the obligatory input of payment details for trial subscriptions

We promised you a free trial, and we mean it. You won’t be charged during your 7-day free trial, and you’ll have full access to all premium features.

We ask for payment details upfront because your trial will automatically convert into a paid subscription once it ends. This ensures uninterrupted access without needing to re-enter your details. If you’re redeeming a promotional trial with a code, payment details are also required for smooth activation and continued access.

Don’t worry, if you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged.

Your payment method stays securely linked to your account during the trial in case you decide to continue with a subscription.

If you started your trial on our website, you can cancel anytime in your Account Settings. As long as you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged. If you cancel during a trial or active subscription, you’ll continue to have access until the end of the current billing period.

Trials and subscriptions started via the App Store or Play Store must be managed directly in your Apple or Google account. (How do I cancel my subscription?)

If you have any questions, our support team is happy to help.

Please note: Payment details cannot be removed while a subscription is active. Once your subscription has ended, you can contact support to request removal of your payment information.
